Lists, lists, lists!

It's exactly 7 days before our much awaited advance screening of The Bucket List at Festival Mall Cinema 3. Home stretch na, yay! In this light, let me share with you some lists I've come up with and maybe I'll be sharing more as the big day nears. Honestly, this is just a lame excuse for not getting into the rest of my responsibilities right away (e.g. narratives and my thesis proposal) hahaha :)

Top 5 things that stresses me out nowadays:
5. my Globe bill that seems to increase exponentially by the month huhuhu
4. my babies' narratives and writeups
3. my February curriculum
2. my thinning cash flow and the really strong urge to fill my summer with out-of-town trips (!!!)
1. my still non-existent thesis proposal (waaaah!)

Top 10 things that make teaching the best job in the world:
10. You can make a fool of yourself anytime and the kids won't make fun of you
9. Classes (at least mine) lasts only for a few hours
8. We have a month and a half worth of vacation every year (scattered tho)
7. Extremely fun field trips!!!
6. Great gifts from really generous parents during birthdays, Christmas and Moving Up Days
5. I can go to work in flip flops and shorts (and even pambahay if you wish haha)
4. Being with kids makes you look and feel a lot younger (no lines nor crow's feet haha)
3. There's always something hilarious happening in the classroom (ab workout!)
2. Incomparable fulfillment of seeing your kids learn to speak clearly, read, write and share their stuff (makes me teary-eyed sometimes)
1. Being told "I love you" several times a day with kisses and tight hugs and knowing it's sincere! Now who needs an S.O. with that?

Who are you and what do you do

...that makes you think you're above me but have you walked in my shoes? (Pedestal by Fergie)

I'm in the middle of the weekend. I'm about to throw up from all the chocolate I ate from Churritos (mint dark sugarfree chocolate truffle and a frozen mint hot chocolate after eating at Flaming Wings which I have to say is really a treat!). Eto ang overload :( Suddenly I don't feel good. But aside from that I'm glad I agreed to go out with a friend this afternoon otherwise I wouldn't have found this tarpaulin printer near Ruins that could print banners in 3 hours on Monday. Yey! Finally we're on the home stretch for the movie premier! I can't wait!

It has been a tough week. I have been irritable and depressed. Nope I'm not about to get my period in the next 3 weeks or more. Kinda breaking out also which sucks big time. But I learned to just go with the flow and not think about recent events (or the lack thereof hahaha). Basta I'm done with the curriculum and I'm looking forward to my dance classes and Neil's birthday celebration on Tuesday and I can't wait for him to see our gift. Sana magkasya! The moment I saw the shirt I knew it was for him.

There's a deluge of international artists coming over -- My Chemical Romance, Incubus, Ne-yo on Feb29, Maroon 5 on March 5, U2 in October... As much as I would like to watch Ne-yo and Maroon 5, it cuts too close to my birthday and I think I'd rather spend for more booze on my party LOL if ever I'll have one. I hope my parents oblige. And I'll ask for a laptop too. The one that Oli Pettigrew's endorsing on AXN hahaha. He's hot!

I hope next week's more promising. And that I won't get too tamad with finishing all requirements or else mababaon na naman ako :(

Mint chocolate cure

What's that component again in chocolates that alleviates your mood? Definitely works, especially if laced with mint! Finally opened the Ghirardelli that a friend gave me last Christmas (thanks ha!) and I sort of forgot about being in a bad mood since this morning. Kinda forgot about the amount of work I'll have to do in the next few weeks too. I'm blogging and composing something while chatting with this person (yes, I'm a multitasking girl) and somehow a sense of clarity overcomes me. Seems like we're on different planes after all. It's still time that will tell what can come out of this, but from the looks of it, he's not really what I'm looking for. To think I was starting to get ahead of myself! Sheesh.

Dear God, you know how weak I am with these things. Please keep my emotions in check and make me focus on more important things than this. I know You have my best interests at heart so please grant me the patience to wait for the things that You will bless me with at the right time.

It's just another day when every single word I say fades out...

(From Vertical Horizon's "Echo")

It's raining and I hate it, especially that I ought to be at La Salle by 3pm today to meet with my thesis adviser. Impending torturous work ahead!!! Sigh. Yeah, looks like it's all going to be writing assignments from here onwards, with school and SE requirements to boot. I do hope I don't get too distracted to procrastinate, otherwise I'm doomed. I want to be as fresh as a daisy pa naman on my birthday week hahahaha --- which is just 7 weeks away!

Then again, I'm really that stubborn to allow myself to get carried away by recent events, which I don't really need right now. So what do I really need? Focus and a steady flow of words and inspiration, maybe caffeine in my veins and shopping money as well LOL.

This week I've seen how prayers have moved mountains. Last Saturday, I think we were all namumutla from anxiety about the movie premier with just having a third of our target pledges then. What do you know, pledges incremented by around 100k every single day this week! Man, that was really mind-blowing. God, galing mo talaga :) Tara, let's all now book a flight to Prague -- as seen on Amazing Race Asia hahaha!

Groan. I can't bring myself to stand up and get ready for my meeting...

Work wins

Glad to find out that my sound card's working perfectly and the old speakers can work with my Zen. The subwoofer's still working yey! I'll just have to buy a new set of speakers. And more memory. An external hard drive perhaps? Flat screen monitor? Upgraded DSL connection? A Macbook? A home entertainment system? A Sony Bravia? A BMW X5? If only money grew from trees!

I think I'm on my second liter of water for today (2:13pm) and will probably drown myself some more so I won't have a hard time tomorrow when the kids come in. I MISS THEM TERRIBLY!!!! I can't wait to hug and kiss them (kids have a stronger immune system than most adults)!!! I'm not really dependent on meds and I'm hoping that rest and lots and fluids are enough -- hoping I'll get a long and good night's sleep tonight.

Finally dawned on me that the next three months will be unbelievably busy with so many things to accomplish: kids' writeups and narratives, February curriculum, PTCs, the SE movie premier and my thesis proposal and defense. Awwww meeeen. It's 2:20pm and have roughly 8 hours to do something productive before calling it a day. To work or not to work - that is the question....

Okay, okay! Work wins!

Moonlight

From TV.com:
Moonlight (started September 28, 2007) follows Mick St. John (Alex O'Loughlin), an immortal vampire and private investigator and his struggle to exist after he was bitten 60 years ago by his vampire bride, Coraline (Shannyn Sossamon), on their wedding night. It also follows his internal torment as he falls in love with one he should not, one who is mortal named Beth (Sophia Myles), a news reporter, as well as his dealings with the woman who made him a vampire, his sire Coraline.

Jason Dohring (of Veronica Mars fame) makes a comeback as Josef, Mick's immortal vampire mentor. Took me a month to start watching this series because I was too preoccupied with Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice. Anyway, I wasn't too impressed with the pilot (it was a bit dragging) but things soon picked up after the second episode. Mick St. John surely grows on you! I've actually seen his similarities with someone I'm seeing -- subjective pala itong review na to! Hahaha!

Anyway, the part about the past resurrecting in another form got me really intrigued, hence I can't wait to finish downloading the most recent episode 10, which they say is the best episode so far in the season. I mean, there really are people in your past (and their vivid memories) that you can never get rid of, most probably because they feel the same way too. Now what do you do with the people who had figured in your life just now? Will there be enough room for everyone?

With the sniffles and a clouded judgment

Have been feeling under the weather for the last two days, and I still chose to post a blog (or rather, blogs) at 10:41pm. Only a handful happened since I made that ruckus on New Year's day (man, being grounded as you near 28 is just.... I dunno... sweet? sigh!) but I'm glad to say my parents and I are ok since I apologized a few hours after (they finally bought me my red Alice suede Crocs, I can't believe it!). I just don't know how to ask permission for tomorrow night's prayer meeting and all the other meetings that I need to be in.

So what else have I been doing? Yesterday I wasn't able to sleep (I wonder why?!) and was terribly woozy in school so I decided to forego gym and sleep. On my way home, I got swayed into buying the first season of Dexter (it's going to take a really long time to download all of them) together with HipHop ABS. I tried it (much to my delight!) and that must have done me in. I should've rested. Now I feel a lot worse :(

On top of listening to three albums of Phoenix (Alphabetical, United and It's Never Been Like That) and another of Bloc Party (Weekend in the City), I downloaded the following albums:
1. One Republic - Dreaming Out Loud
2. Matt Kearney - Nothing Left to Lose
3. Matt Wertz - 23 Places
4. Matt White - Best Days
5. Alicia Keys - As I Am
6. Maroon 5 - It Won't Be Soon Before Long
7. Lifehouse - Who We Are
8. Fergie - The Duchess

... and realized how damn lucky we are to get really great songs for free! Hahaha! Thanks to speedy Internet connections! Next time na ang review ng bawat isa. Basta check them out :)
